Arista Riding Clothes
Supplies
Supplies:
We carry wormer, shampoo, fly spray, hoof dressing, latex bandages, vet wrap, hoof picks, all the grooming tools you need. We are very fortunate to have a company from England that supplies us with unusual items such as a scraper mitt that allows you to whisk the water from your horse's legs. It is supple enough to run down the horses' legs to remove excess water.

This is something you cannot possibly do with a hard Sweat Scraper. This particular company has a lot of unique items that Tarnbrooke Tack carries on a regular basis.  Return to Top

Blue Grass Heritage Prints:
Perhaps you receive a copy of the Huntfield catalogue. Huntfield's also sell Blue Grass Heritage Prints. The unusual thing about these prints is that they are all actual photographs taken by John S. Hockensmith from Kentucky. Like a print, they are numbered and limited. He is a wonderful photographer of Equestrian scenes.

Seasons of the Bluegrass
Jack Russell Art He takes photos of the Kentucky Derby each year along with other lovely horse scenes, Jack Russell's, and Equestrian appointments.

Click on these three pictures for more samples and further details.

Charles Owen ASTM Approved Riding helmets

Charles Owen ASTM Approved Riding Helmets: If you are a serious show person, you obviously know that as of December 1, 2001 EVERY JUNIOR RIDER will be required to wear an approved helmet. We know that this has been a big controversy for many years and it is now about to happen. What this means to you, the Jr. Equestrian is if you DO NOT HAVE AN APPROVED HELMET, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SHOW AT A RECOGNIZED SHOW!

Tarnbrooke Tack has chosen the Charles Owen Company because of their relative low profile and the safety issues that are in question here. They are slightly higher than some of the other helmets, but they come down over the occipital bone, are light weight, attractive, come in a variety of colors and protect you. They DO NOT look like a very large vegetable bowl turned upside down on your head. They have proven to be a popular item with the local equestrians. Tarnbrooke Tack carries (2) styles of Charles Owen Approved Helmets. The Rider 2000, which sells for $120.95 and The Show Jumper 2000, which sells for $189.95. Head protection should be taken seriously and Charles Owen has taken care of both the protection concerns and the overall fashion issues.   Return to Top
Saddles: Until this year, Tarnbrooke has chosen not to carry a NEW line of saddles. We always have a lot of consignment saddles to sell, but this year hopefully will prove to be a little different.

Intec, or The International Helmet Company has sold saddles for many years. This fall they brought me three different saddles to try. I have sat in all of them and have found that the Celene is one of the most balanced saddles I personally have ever sat in. The French Saddler, Marcel Toulouse made the Celene, the Ariano, and the Luciano Master, all show in the picture. As you can see, they are stuffed with foam and wool and have a beechwood and steel reinforced tree.
M. Toulouse Saddles

We also have several consignment saddles. All are in very good condition. Most of the saddles are close contact name brands and in several sizes. We do have one NEW IRISH BARNEY"S ALL PURPOSE SADDLE. We are always willing to take your pre-owned saddle. Once again, many people would rather buy used than new as there is no break-in time.

Saddles
Bridles, Saddle Pads, and more!

We have several used bridles, reins, girths, shin boots,  halters, saddle pads, breeches, field boots, dress boots, paddock shoes, sweaters, T-shirts, Hunt Coats, and Show Coats. All of these items are in a variety of sizes and colors.

Gift Ideas

We are certain that we are definitely different. Please stop in the store soon. You can call ahead to see if we have what you might be looking for. We are always in search of slightly used/almost new items to stock in the store. Clean out your barn, trunks and tack room. The items you can't or don't use anymore, might be just what the next equestrian is looking for. You can also email us at IrishHorseBoyd@aol.com. By recycling your equestrian equipment and clothing you can replace or add to your supply. We want to make sure our customers are happy. People have many reasons for selling their supplies. New horse, new discipline, or maybe you just don't ride anymore. We never make you take a store credit. That option is available, but if you don't have horses anymore what good is a store credit. Your money is always available to you. Checks are written the first of every month. If you come in the store mid month and something of yours has sold, we will gladly look it up in the computer and write you a check at that time. The choice is yours.

Hoping to meet you soon.
